Draggingtree
: Obama's Pass-the-Buck PresidencyThe president has a pattern of deflecting blame and denying responsibility. With military action against ISIS underway, that's a dangerous habit. BY JOSH KRAUSHAAR · Follow on Twitter · September 29, 2014 In attempting to downplay the political damage from a slew of second-term controversies, President Obama has counted on the American people having a very short memory span and a healthy suspension of disbelief. The time-tested strategy for Obama: Claim he's in the dark about his own administration's activities, blame the mess on subordinates, and hope that with the passage of time, all will be forgotten. Harry Truman, the president isn't. He's more likely to pass the buck. · His latest eyebrow-raiser came on 60 Minutes on Sunday, when the president blamed the failure to anticipate the rise of ISIS on his intelligence community for not informing him of the growing threat. "I think our head of the intelligence community, Jim Clapper, has acknowledged that I think they underestimated what had been taking place in Syria," · · "It's surprising that the president said that U.S. intelligence missed this one, because it seems that U.S. intelligence was the only group that missed this one
Draggingtree
President Obama Lays Blame Filed under: General — Dana @ 5:29 pm [guest post by Dana] In an interview with 60 Minutes last night, President Obama threw the intelligence community under the bus when discussing the swift and seemingly sudden rise of ISIS: “Our head of the intelligence community, Jim Clapper, has acknowledged that, I think, they underestimated what had been taking place in Syria,” he said. His accusation did not sit well with a former intelligence officer: “Either the president doesn’t read the intelligence he’s getting or he’s bullshitting.” Or both. Sen. John McCain also pushed back today: http://patterico.com/2014/09/29/president-obama-lays-blame/

Draggingtree
Captain Pronoun: How the Third Person Takes the Fall SEPTEMBER 30, 2014 By Robert Tracinski To the politician looking to shade the truth and evade responsibility, there is no greater superhero than Captain Pronoun. You wouldn’t believe how much can be obfuscated simply by shifting the number and person of a narrative’s dramatis personae. For example, on “60 Minutes” Sunday night, President Obama gave us a demonstration of how much can be accomplished by that indispensable man, the third person. Pressed on whether he was asleep at the wheel during the rise of the Islamic State—which he obviously was—Obama replied: “Our head of the intelligence community, Jim Clapper, has acknowledged that, I think, they underestimated what had been taking place in Syria.” Yes, that’s right. They. Obama might be foolish enough to let a radical terrorist group re-establish itself in a power vacuum in Iraq and Syria, but he wouldn’t be so foolish as to use the first personal singular or plural—”I” or “we” to acknowledge his own responsibility. Draggingtree
Why worry about 'no boots' when Obama's heart isn't in the battle against radical Islam? By Judi McLeod Full Story Aside from the Arabs, who would back him 100 percent, Western leaders signing up for the ragtag coalition to take on ISIS, should be asked by their masses why they would send soldiers into a battle led by a pretend general who plays AWOL at 60 percent of his intelligence sessions. http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/66380
Cyber_Liberty
Captain Pronoun: How the Third Person Takes the Fall SEPTEMBER 30, 2014 By Robert Tracinski http://thefederalist.com/2014/09/30/captain-pronoun-how-the-third-person-takes-the-fall/ That is a really good article, with practical applications far beyond the current falderal concerning Ohaha's obliviousness with important things that bore him. I especially like the part about swapping the first person and second person pronouns. "I'm going to raise taxes on me" sounds much more appetizing than "I'm going to raise taxes on you."
Draggingtree
The Throat-Clearing President vs. the Throat-Cutting TerroristsOctober 1, 2014 by Ben Shapiro Last week, President Obama spoke to the United Nations about the growing threat of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria. In the course of that speech, he discussed a wide variety of threats to Western civilization, ranging from Ebola to global warming, from chaos in Syria to China’s incursions in the South China Sea. The speech seemed unfocused, meandering. But it held together thanks to one common thread: Barack Obama believes that words solve everything. Particularly his own. Obama’s narcissism isn’t mere arrogance. It’s messianism. It’s pure faith that his verbiage can alter the course of history. http://www.frontpagemag.com/2014/ben-shapiro/the-throat-clearing-president-vs-the-throat-cutting-terrorists/
Draggingtree
October 27, 2014 Mr. President, You LieBy John Dale Dunn This month Harper Collins published the latest book by investigative journalist, essayist, novelist, frequent American Thinker contributor Jack Cashill, You Lie! The Evasions, Omissions, Fabrications, Frauds, and Outright Falsehoods of Barack Obama, a thorough dissection of Obama lies and perfidy with 259 pages of text and 22 pages of endnotes. Jack Cashill is a fearless and effective advocate for traditional values and constitutional sensible government, who persuades with intelligent writing and in depth impeccable research. He has been involved in a multi-year effort to expose Barack Obama as an exceptionally incompetent and misguided, even malicious man. I recommend this latest book You Lie, as a product of Jack’s exceptional efforts to expose the fraud and deceptions of Barack Obama. http://americanthinker.com/2014/10/mr_president_you_lie.html
