Draggingtree
The American Spectator: FOR A CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTIONBy F.H. Buckley on 9.6.14 | 12:18PM As I always suspected, Obama will announce by executive order a plan to “regularize” undocumented (i.e., illegal) aliens after the November election. That’s an admission that it’s an unpopular issue, at least where Democratic Senate seats are in play. It’s also an admission that Democratic voters in those states aren’t smart enough to figure out what’s coming around the bend. And of course, the Democratic candidates in question will swear that they personally, honest-to-God, don’t want an amnesty, so this is also an admission that the Democratic voters in those states aren’t smart enough to know that the candidates in question are lying. But in the end, what does it matter? Obama will do it whomever takes control of the Senate. And if the Republicans do take the Senate, what then? The House and Senate will pass legislation and send it over to the White House. Where it will die.
Draggingtree
THE CASE FOR A CONVENTION OF STATES CONVENTION OF STATES The Convention of States (COS) Project was founded by Citizens for Self-Governance for the purpose of stopping the runaway power of the federal government. We believe Washington, D.C., is broken and will not fix itself. The federal government is spending this country into the ground, seizing power from the states and taking liberty from the people. We have a solution as big as the problem. P.O. Draggingtree
Obama’s Amnesty-Inequality Trap The politics of mass immigration sacrifice the security of the working class for the comfort of the elite. By SCOTT MCCONNELL • September 10, 2014 Such inconvenient things, elections. So much the better if the elites of both parties could quietly meet in a plush and smokeless private room to decide what’s best. That, anyway, is what the “immigration reform” establishment must feel after the President Obama announced he was backing off his announced intention to push amnesty by executive order prior to the November election. As the New York Times reported: What had once looked like a clear political imperative for both parties—action to grant legal status to millions of undocumented immigrants—had morphed instead into what appeared to be a risky move that could cost Democrats their majority in the November midterm congressional elections. The Times went on to explain how years of the highest level of elites lobbying the Republican Party to understand that amnesty was in their interest http://www.theamericanconservative.com/articles/obamas-amnesty-inequality-trap/
