Geee
Free Beacon: Hamas’ Interior Ministry has ordered residents of the Gaza Strip to remain in their houses if they are about to be bombed by the Israelis, a move that effectively turns citizens into human shields and is intentionally meant to boost the casualty rate, according to a copy of the order published by Hamas. Israel warns Gaza residents of air strikes before they take place so innocent civilians have time to flee and seek shelter. The latest Hamas order that citizens ignore Israel’s warnings and stay put is a clear effort by the terror group to increase the death count and apply pressure on Israel to cease its military campaign meant to end Hamas’s attacks. “The interior ministry warned citizens about Israel sending messages telling them to leave their houses,” according to translations of the official Arabic statement provided by Oren Adaki, an Arabic language specialist at Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD). Geee
Air Strikes Continue as Israel Appears Reluctant to Remove Hamas from Power JERUSALEM—The headline in a Tel Aviv daily as the Israeli air force began to attack Hamas rocket launching sites this week, “All The Way,” hinted at a decisive offensive that would remove the threat to Israel from the Gaza Strip for good. However, the tone from officials in Jerusalem suggests an Israeli intention to go only part of the way, leaving Hamas in control in Gaza, weakened but alive. Israeli political commentators with access to government officials in Jerusalem are virtually unanimous in saying that the elimination of Hamas would lead to chaos in Gaza, with the likelihood of even more radical groups, like Islamic Jihad or offshoots of ISIL, assuming control there. Not even the most vigorous Israeli opponents of the pullout from Gaza nine years ago, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, today advocate a permanent return to Gaza. http://freebeacon.com/national-security/air-strikes-continue-as-israel-appears-reluctant-to-remove-hamas-from-power/
Geee
Israeli Ambassador: Hamas Using Iranian Rockets to Attack Israel The terror group Hamas has begun deploying against Israel advanced long-range missiles provided to the militant group by Iran, forcing the Israeli military to specifically target these weapons caches in air strikes, according to Israel’s ambassador to the United States. The Israeli Defense Forces has begun striking Hamas missile factories that are capable of producing these long-range Iranian rockets, Israeli Ambassador Ron Dermer told a small crowd of leading pro-Israel officials and other insiders on Wednesday. “Hamas has a considerable arsenal, some of it has been smuggled in, [and] some of those long range rockets they’ve fired in the last couple days were smuggled in” via illicit shipments sent by Iran, Dermer said on Capitol Hill during the July 9 Symposium, which brought together leading pro-Israel advocates in Washington, D.C. http://freebeacon.com/national-security/israeli-ambassador-hamas-using-iranian-rockets-to-attack-israel/
