A Biden-Harris Regulatory Tidal Wave

The Biden/Harris administration has unleashed a torrent of new regulations, marking a record high in the Spring 2024 Unified Agenda of Federal Regulations. This surge is not an isolated event but rather a continuation of a historic acceleration in regulatory cost growth. The implications of this relentless regulatory expansion are profound, not only for the remainder of this administration but also for the future if this trend continues beyond January 2025.

Since the 1980s, the Unified Agenda of Federal Regulatory and Deregulatory Actions has served as a semi-annual snapshot of the regulatory priorities and initiatives of federal departments and agencies. Traditionally, it has been a tool for transparency, aimed at informing the public and stakeholders about upcoming regulations and the status of ongoing efforts. However, under the Biden/Harris administration, the Unified Agenda has evolved into a manifesto for an unprecedented regulatory blitz.

The Spring 2024 edition of the Unified Agenda, released over the July 4th weekend, lists a staggering 3,698 rules at various stages of development from over 60 federal entities. This is a significant increase from the 3,599 rules in the Fall 2023 Agenda. The breakdown includes 2,361 active actions (pre-rule, proposed, and final rules anticipated soon), 689 completed actions (finalized in the past six months), and 648 long-term actions (anticipated beyond the next 12 months).

One of the most striking features of this Agenda is the implementation of Executive Order 14,094, "Modernizing Regulatory Review," which shifts the Office of Management and Budget's (OMB) role from regulatory oversight to advancing "net benefits" as defined by progressive leadership. This shift has raised the threshold for what qualifies as a "significant regulatory action" from $100 million to $200 million in annual economic impact. This redefinition has profound implications for how regulations are scrutinized and managed.:snip:

Shades Of Inside Kamala Harris's Plan To End Cash Bail and 'Transform The Criminal Justice System'

"We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America.".

Barack Obama, October 30, 2008.

Kamala is a Progressive just like Barack. And Joe, He'll go along with anything to   get power.

Remember even if Trump Wins, they've got until Jan. 2 2025 to be in power.

Documents show citizens' concerns ignored as Biden administration moves forward with offshore wind

A turbine blade disintegrated. Residents were picking up pieces of green and white foam, along with larger pieces of fiberglass off the sand, the Nantucket Current reported

The debris came from the Vineyard Wind, which in January became the second offshore wind project in the U.S. to deliver power. The debris incident will likely add to the growing list of concerns about the impacts of President Joe Biden’s plans to blanket the East Coast with wind turbines exceeding the height of the Eiffel Tower and with blades longer than football fields.

Multiple groups from both sides of the political divide have voiced objections to Biden’s plan over the impacts to the viewshed, marine wildlife, historic sites, tourism and fishing. While their concerns vary, many say the Department of the Interior (DOI) has not appeared to factor in anything they have to say on these matters.

"We’ve reached out in various ways, and it doesn’t appear our concerns have been heard,” Dr. Bob Stern, a volunteer with Save LBI, told Just the News:snip:

Biden to unveil plans for reforming the Supreme Court next week: report

President Biden will unveil a proposal on Monday that would radically overhaul the Supreme Court, according to a report.

The 81-year-old president’s plan will likely call for term limits for justices, an enforceable code of ethics and a constitutional amendment limiting immunity for presidents and officials holding public office, Politico reported on Friday.

Biden is expected to present his plan during his visit to Lyndon Johnson’s presidential library in Austin, where he is slated to speak on Monday. :snip:
