Scientists make shock Shroud of Turin discovery as new evidence suggests burial cloth ‘showing imprint of Jesus’ is REAL

SCIENTISTS have made a shocking new discovery which suggests a burial cloth claimed to show an imprint of Jesus could be real.

The famed Shroud of Turin - a piece of linen imprinted with the image of a bearded man - has been a mystery for centuries.

Believers claim Jesus was wrapped in the shroud before he was buried and that the image is him, while others have disagreed and branded it a hoax.

But new evidence suggests the cloth was made around 2,000 years ago - the same period when he was said to have lived and died.

Most estimates say Jesus was crucified in AD 33, based on the Julian calendar, Bible passages and gospels from the time - 1,991 years ago.

Italian researchers used specialist x-ray technology to examine the linen sheet and determine its age.

The Institute of Crystallography of the National Research Council studied eight small samples of fabric to uncover tiny details of the linen's structure and cellulose patterns.

They used specific ageing metrics like temperature and humidity to determine the results.

Researchers in 1988 claimed to have debunked the relic and proved it was from the Middle Ages - hundreds of years after Jesus.

But Dr Liberato De Caro, lead author of the latest study, said the old research - which used carbon dating to estimate the shroud was made between the years 1260 and 1390 - was unreliable.

He explained: "Fabric samples are usually subject to all kinds of contamination, which cannot be completely removed from the dated specimen."

The Bible states Joseph of Arimathea was the man who wrapped Jesus' body in linen before placing it in the tomb.:snip:

The AI Face Of Jesus

Did you hear that there’s a new Italian scientific report out showing that the Shroud of Turin is made from linen dating to the time of Christ? This is the face of Jesus created by AI from the image on the Shroud. I find this startling and moving. Do you?:

Orioles Host First-Ever ‘Faith Night,’ Players Share ‘What God has Done’

The Baltimore Orioles, a Major League Baseball team, hosted its first-ever “Faith Night” on Aug. 13. Six players — including starting pitcher Trevor Rogers and All-Star shortstop Gunnar Henderson — shared their testimonies of faith to thousands of fans after their game against the Washington Nationals.

The event included a time of worship and praise with a live performance by Reach Worship, a group from Reach Church, a nondenominational church in Newark, Delaware.

An event description released by the MLB stated that “faith plays a big role in the Orioles clubhouse. Even though the Orioles typically play six or seven games a week, they always make time for chapel.”:snip:

Some years ago I attended a game they played in Seattle. When one player was asked for an autograph he passed the paper around and the whole bullpin signed. How nice was that!

If they were all like that I might start to watch Baseball again :)

Given the new dating, the powerful effect of the Jesus image may simply be this: it’s a striking reminder that the incarnate creator of mankind was not a spirit or a supernatural force, but a particular person from a particular time and place and culture, who walked and suffered, ate and bled, grew and lived and died like one of us.

In my final letter last week, I spoke about religion as a story, a joy-inducing narrative of morality and meaning that overlays the seemingly random events of material life. It’s important to remember that, in this case, the narrative is also history. As C. S. Lewis tells it, J. R. R. Tolkien shared this wisdom with him on that trail in Oxford which you and I once walked together: “The story of Christ is simply a true myth: a myth working on us in the same way as the others, but with this tremendous difference, that it really happened.”

This changes everything. It suggests that material and spiritual reality are one: not a creation of the human mind but a meeting of that mind with the mind of another, greater than our own. The truth of scripture is not derived from scripture but from life — a life that is itself a story, shot through with meaning, morality and consciousness.

Our joy, in other words, is natural to us — and as real as the face gazing back at ours.

Love, Dad

Existence of another figure from the Bible may have just been proven - after discovery of 'genie' stone

An ancient stone seal has been discovered in Jerusalem that may be linked to a warrior mentioned in the Bible.

The black dime-sized relic was likely worn as an amulet around the neck of a man who held a senior position in the holy city some 2,700 years ago.

Stone seals were used as a sort of ancient I.D. card. This one bears an engraving of a winged 'genie' or 'demon' that has never been seen before in Israel.

Two names are also inscribed on the seal - 'Yehoʼezer' and 'Hoshʼayahu' - which are both mentioned in the bible. 'Yoʼezer,' the abbreviated form of Yehoʼezer, was the name of one of the warriors of King David, the king of Israel at the time.

And the name Hoshʼayahu is a parallel form of the name ʼAzariah ben Hoshʼaya,' which is mentioned in the book of Jeremiah.

'It is not impossible that perhaps it was Yehoʼezer himself who engraved the names on the object,' said research partner Ronny Reich from the University of Haifa in a press release.

This finding also provides new evidence to support a multi-national culture thriving in ancient Jerusalem, as it is described in the bible.:snip:
