The Sound of Freedom, which opens in theaters Tuesday, has received a 92 percent "fresh" rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, and a 100 percent rating from audiences who have seen the film ahead of opening day.

In a review for Variety, Owen Gleiberman said that "you needn’t hold extreme beliefs to experience 'Sound of Freedom' as a compelling movie that shines an authentic light on one of the crucial criminal horrors of our time, one that Hollywood has mostly shied away from."

The high ratings come as the film has surpassed $10 million in presales, with over one million tickets sold.

The film is based on the actions of Tim Ballard, who left his position at the Department of Homeland Security and started Operation Underground Railroad in 2013 to rescue children who had been trafficked around the globe, and stars Jim Caviezel as the lead.

Jim Caviezel Reveals What Disney Told Him to Do with References to God in ‘Count of Monte Cristo’

Actor Jim Caviezel, a vocal Christian in a business not noted for its concerns for religion, revealed recently what took place behind the scenes of a Disney movie.

Caviezel had landed the role of Edmond Dantes in an adaptation of the Alexandre Dumas novel and found himself battling Disney executives over one word, according to Newsbusters.

“They wanted me to remove ‘God’ from all the script. True story … what happened to God? ‘God will give me justice,’” he said, quoting the book.

“I had to say, no, I can’t do this,’” he said.

The response was vintage liberal Hollywood.

“Disney said, ‘Oh, so you’re one of those?’ I said, ‘One of those what? One of those who rewrite Alexandre Dumas? One of those who rewrite Shakespeare? because that’s essentially what you did,’” he said.

“So I held my ground, and by God they backed off,” he said.:snip:

It is a GOOD THING God is Merciful. Otherwise He might decide to  Remove Them, from the script.   One day those people will Choose to remove  themselves from Gods script. This also is Free Will.

Rolling Stone, Washington Post PRAISED pro-pedophile movie Cuties, ATTACKED anti-child sex trafficking movie Sound of Freedom

Cuties shows depictions of little girls being sexualized in a twerk-dancing crew.

The Washington Post and Rolling Stone both came out criticizing the anti-child sex trafficking film, Sound of Freedom after its release. Both also praised another movie, Cuties, which depicts a twerking dance crew made up of little girls.

The articles that both the Washington Post and Rolling Stone released about Sound of Freedom accuse the film of being associated with QAnon conspiracy theories. The film is based on a portion of Tim Ballard's life and the beginnings of him forming the organization, Operation Underground Railroad (OUR).

Rolling Stone said that actor Jim Caviezel, who depicts Ballard in the film, has given "speeches and interviews" about "evildoers who are harvesting the blood of children."

The Post pointed out that the film has been "promoted on QAnon message boards" and plays into the theory that "global elites are kidnapping children, having sex with them and harvesting their blood."

Ballard and Caviezel recently went on an interview with Jordan Peterson. Ballard also addressed this and explained that blood and organ harvesting is "very real.” He has posted a video showing a raid where this occurred in Western Africa.

One statement from Rolling Stone said the backlash at Cuties was just part of a "tactic [that] has its roots in conspiracy theorist circles, such as the QAnon community."

The article alleges the backlash to the film was part of the "far right's obsession with pedophilia."

Another piece from Rolling Stone called it a "coming-of-age movie" that was caught in a culture war. The piece says it was not "a salacious bit of pedo-bait" but instead said it was its "polar opposite" that points out what happens when children get too involved with sexuality.

The Post called Cuties "an unflinching look at what it means to be a preteen girl."

It is the "kind of story that isn’t told well very often, and deserves to be told more." The Post's article continued. "Whose gaze does the camera represent? How is this scene supposed to make us feel? These are the kind of nuanced discussions that art is meant to encourage," the article went on while discussing explicit scenes in the film.

The ‘Sound of Freedom’ stuns Hollywood

Under Biden the cartels get rich, and our nations become weak

In news that is shocking Hollywood and the mainstream media elite world, Angel Studios’ movie “Sound of Freedom” beat out the latest long-promoted Indiana Jones sequel on July 4th, despite having a tiny fraction of the budget and media attention.

The Sound of Freedom, starring Jim Caviezel and Eduardo Verástegui, is based on a true story of a former special agent, Tim Ballard, and his mission to rescue hundreds of children from sex traffickers.

CPAC hosted a special screening for “Sound of Freedom” at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, DC, a couple of weeks ago to bring awareness to the crisis and announce the unveiling of CPAC’s new Center for Combating Trafficking.  The Center’s goal is to improve cross-collaboration between domestic and international entities dedicated to ending human trafficking, supporting victims in reintegrating into society.

We must address head-on where we are today in this global fight.

Early on in his Presidency, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, AMLO, decried a new strategy for Mexico in dealing with the criminal cartels, “hugs, not bullets.” AMLO’s posturing toward the criminal cartels has failed as murders remain high, drugs continue to flow, and children are sold into indescribable horror. Now as AMLO’s MORENA political party has entered into “narco-pacts” with the deadly Sinaloa Cartel, it is time for leaders of the Western hemisphere to unite against the criminal cartels and stop the scourge of human trafficking. :snip:

Having seen Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, I believe (ala Derek Hunter's take https://townhall.com/columnists/derekhunter/2023/07/06/dont-believe-the-haters-indiana-jones-5-is-awesome-n2625332) that the movie is being targeted precisely because it isn't "woke".

Just a really fun movie that serves as a fitting conclusion to the story line.

Still have to go see Sound of Freedom.

Haven't seen either, but there on my list. I am always amazed at movies that have 4 to 5 stars that turn out to be just trash, but then remind myself that these egomaniacs are all rating themselves and they don't go by quality, but the buddy system.

Agent Who Inspired Box Office Smash 'Sound of Freedom' Warns: 'Trans Voice' Agenda Is Straight out of the Pedophile Playbook

RedState has reported on the reception from legacy Hollywood and the Left on the unexpected box office smash Sound of Freedom, starring Passion of The Christ‘s Jim Caviezel. Caviezel portrays Tim Ballard, a federal agent who rescues a boy from captivity in South America, only to discover that his sister has been left behind. The rest of the film focuses on the mission to get her out of the country. This journey leads Ballard to found Operation Underground Railroad, which works to rescue children from human trafficking across the globe.

One reason the Left is having conniption fits is because the film is building not only awareness about child trafficking and what must be done to blunt its impact but it also gives Ballard an even larger megaphone to talk about his work. In an interview with Daily Signal’s Tyler O’Neill, Caviezel and Tim Ballard discuss the film’s power and reach into their own personal lives, but also into the lives of those children Operation Underground Railroad has rescued and those the organization seeks to rescue.:snip:

Does CNN think raising awareness about child sex trafficking is a right-wing conspiracy?

The hit movie ‘Sound of Freedom’ continues to do big box office numbers, and for those who’ve seen it, it’s easy to understand why. In a world where wondering about cocaine on the White House lawn and using correct gender pronouns are top concerns, some folks have instead decided to use the power of film to highlight the very real and tragic problem of child sex trafficking.

In many ways, ‘Sound of Freedom’ is not an easy watch. But it is a must watch.

‘The Passion of the Christ’ actor Jim Caviezel plays Tim Ballard, a former Department of Homeland Security agent who in real life, really did work with Colombian authorities to rescue children from an organized sex trafficking ring. The story is true. The children are victims. Ballard is a hero for saving them. Caviezel does an excellent job playing him.

There is no conspiracy theory nonsense. There’s nothing wacky or intentionally politically partisan. Though ‘god’ is mentioned, the movie isn’t even really a faith-based film, a genre its production company, Angel Studios, is known for.

It’s about saving kids. Which is now apparently… right-wing?:snip:

California Democrats Block Bill To Lock Up Repeat Child Sex Traffickers: Prison Is Not the Answer

The legislation, Senate Bill 14, would classify trafficking of children and teenagers younger than 18 years old as a serious felony on par with murder, arson, and rape, which would bring longer prison terms and potential life sentences without a chance for a plea bargain. The six Democrats on the Assembly Public Safety Committee abstained from voting on the bill, preventing its advance for a vote by the full chamber. Both Republicans voted yes.

"All [longer sentences] do is increase our investments in systems of harm and subjugation at the expense of the investments that the communities needed to not have this be a problem to begin with," said Democratic committee member Isaac Bryan during the hearing.

The Democrats' downvote came even as local leaders and anti-trafficking activists across California have warned that sex trafficking is surging since the state in January decriminalized loitering with the intent to commit prostitution in the name of transgender rights. The Public Safety Committee has killed a number of proposals this session meant to address rising crime—including a previous bill to sharpen penalties for sex trafficking. Progressive members of the panel have for years worked to ease punishments for criminals and reduce prison populations.:snip:
